SourceX, operating under the name BHP Consulting—a key player in international trade and strategic advisory services across Africa—confirms its strong commitment to the pan-African bus distribution and assembly project, following the conclusion of a strategic partnership with a well-established South African manufacturer.
This now fully operational partnership opens new opportunities for African markets seeking to acquire brand-new buses, either manufactured or assembled locally. The goal is to strengthen public and private transport systems across the continent with a reliable, compliant, and locally adapted offering.
As an exporter, and official distributor of buses in Africa, SourceX is committed to delivering vehicles that meet the highest international standards in terms of quality, safety, and durability.
The partner production facilities, located in Johannesburg and the Western Cape province, are ISO-certified and produce up to 20 units per month, serving both right-hand and left-hand drive markets. More than 80% of the body materials used are locally sourced, independently verified.
“The project is progressing according to our roadmap. Governments and private companies can now place their orders directly with SourceX. We are ready to meet the growing demand across the continent,” said Pax Buhamba-Hamba, Executive Director of SourceX.
In line with its long-term development vision, SourceX is actively working on establishing local bus manufacturing units in Africa, in partnership with governments and private sector players. This initiative aims to boost regional production, promote skills transfer, and create local employment opportunities.
The company has confirmed its target of selling 150 buses by the end of 2026, and is also planning to implement a robust spare parts policy, ensuring component availability for up to 10 years after delivery.
“Our approach is both holistic and sustainable. The goal is not just to sell buses, but to contribute to a structural transformation of transport systems across Africa,” concluded Pax Buhamba-Hamba.
